History

Founded more than a decade ago, VETRUN LLC is a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) focused on developing, manufacturing, and commercializing innovative medical products and mission-support solutions for military, government, first responder, and commercial markets.

Since its founding, VETRUN has successfully developed, commercialized, and transitioned multiple products and business assets while building a nationwide network of manufacturing, engineering, regulatory, and government partners. The company has consistently taken products from concept through engineering, manufacturing, regulatory compliance, commercialization, and customer delivery, establishing a reputation for disciplined execution, accountability, and practical problem solving.

Today, VETRUN specializes in U.S.-based product development and manufacturing with an emphasis on FDA-regulated medical devices, government contracting, and advanced manufacturing. Rather than maintaining a large fixed workforce, VETRUN operates through a scalable project-based model, assembling experienced Program Managers, Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineers, Regulatory Affairs Specialists, Quality Systems Professionals, Supply Chain Experts, Clinical Advisors, and Defense Acquisition Professionals based on the specific requirements of each project. This approach enables the company to rapidly scale expertise while maintaining lean operations and disciplined program management.

Under the leadership of Founder and President C. Lucas Kerr, VETRUN has built a reputation for delivering practical, mission-focused solutions while managing complex supplier networks, regulatory requirements, and government programs. Drawing upon experience in military operations, federal program management, FDA-regulated medical products, and U.S. manufacturing, the company understands how to bridge operational requirements with commercial execution.

Over the past 10+ years, VETRUN has successfully built, operated, and transitioned numerous business assets while continuing to invest in new technologies and strategic partnerships. Today, the company's primary focus is expanding its portfolio of American-manufactured medical products, supporting Department of Defense modernization initiatives, and developing innovative solutions that improve survivability, operational readiness, and patient care for military personnel, first responders, and healthcare professionals.

As VETRUN continues to grow, the company remains committed to its founding principles of service, integrity, innovation, accountability, and execution—delivering reliable products and trusted partnerships that support those who serve.

FOUNDER

C. Lucas Kerr

From his service with the 1st Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment to founding VETRUN LLC, Lucas Kerr has spent his career supporting Government missions from multiple perspectives. His background includes direct military service, hands-on experience working within federal organizations, and leading companies that execute complex Government requirements. He brings a collaborative leadership style grounded in service, integrity, and execution, allowing VETRUN to bridge the gap between operational end users, industry partners, and Government stakeholders.

VETRUN operates using a collaborative project-based model built around a trusted network of highly experienced professionals. Depending on the requirements of each program, the company assembles a tailored team of Program Managers, Systems Engineers, Mechanical Design Engineers, Manufacturing Engineers, Quality Systems Specialists, Regulatory Affairs Consultants, Clinical Advisors, Supply Chain Specialists, and Defense Acquisition Professionals. This scalable approach allows VETRUN to leverage the right expertise for each project while maintaining lean operations, rapid decision-making, and access to decades of specialized experience across medical device development, advanced manufacturing, Government acquisition, and military product fielding.

Rather than relying on a fixed internal engineering staff, VETRUN builds purpose-driven teams around each opportunity, ensuring customers receive the most qualified expertise for every stage of product development—from concept and prototyping through manufacturing, regulatory compliance, and full-rate production.
